All I want for Christmas is some really good weather. We just can't seem to catch a break for any length of time. When the weather is fishable, fish are being caught. Indian River Inlet is giving up some stripers and blues along with some tog in the rocks. The surf is also holding a mix of stripers and blues. From the beaches to the Buoy Line I have been told by some fishermen that this is the best bluefishing they have seen in many, many years. The mouth of Delaware Bay has given up some real nice stripers to folks draggin' eels, spot, bouncing bucktails, or trolling Stretch 25's. Water temps should soon get real right and if the wind takes a break we should be in for a whole lot of good striper fishing. the final results for the Rick's Bait & Tackle/ Sea Side gas & Grill Striper Ganza were as follows. Scott Fluhartytook First Place with a 32Lb. 4oz striper. Ron Boyer finished Second at 24Lb. 1oz. and BillGable took Third with a catch of 21Lb 1oz.

Joe Morris at Lewes Harbour Marina said Evan Falgowski’s 44.8 pounder hung in there to take First Place in the Lewes Harbour Striper Tournament. A 35.4 pounder landed by Grant Aulenbach ended up Second. Jeff Gardiner finished Third with his 33.1 pound bass. Stripers continue to be caught when weather allows boats out. The bite was hot around the full moon early in the week. Guys drifting eels told of good catching at 8B Buoy and in the Valley. Trollers pulling Stretch 25 plugs had success on Overfalls and at Brown Shoal. The “Fishin’ Bitches” from Lewes had a great trip Monday aboard the Skipjack. They caught 38 rockfish and returned with their limit of 20 fish to 18 pounds. On Wednesday, Dave and Joe Walker and Brent Weist had over 50 stripers, culling out a limit of 6 quality rock. Big bluefish have been mixed in, and anglers are still hooking fair numbers of flounder. Billie Jo Hunter was surprised by the 30 inch 8.82 pound doormat she boated aboard the Lil’ Angler. Tog action was slower around the moon due to strong currents and roily water. It showed signs of improving afterwards, with cleaner water and cooling temps on the ocean wrecks and reef sites. Surf fishermen tangled with big blues casting cut mullet and bunker from the beach at Herring Point. Joe and Amanda extended thanks and wishes for happy holidays to all. They’re heading to the Florida Keys for the winter, where they’ll finally get to do some fishing themselves.'Til next week, Have Fun and Be Safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
