Regs and weather get us every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again Mother Nature and the fishing regulations form
a tag-team to really mess things up. As if the closing of flounder
season and sea bass seasons are not enough to cope with, the
winds won’t stop blowing. But I guess that is enough complaining
after having a good summer season. When the weather is good
there should be plenty of tog to be had on the inshore wrecks and
the wall and Haystacks at Lewes. Indian River Inlet is giving up blues
stripers on incoming tide. The stripers are mostly undersize but that
should change as water temps fall. Folks fishing the rocks along the
jetties are scoring keeper-size tog using sand fleas and green crabs.
Massey’s Ditch is also giving up lots of tog and some stripers. Once
Again most fish are under the legal limit. Capt. Chuck Cook of “First
Light Charters” took John, Tracie, and Anna Peshke of Mclean, Va. to
Indian River Inlet where they banged up the flounder before the season
closed. They took flounder to 25 inches along with some blues.
'Til next week, Have Fun and Be Safe !!!!! |
